Life is an incredible gift! We are each blessed with a span of time in which to explore the depths of our own hearts, discover and revel in love, and share our best selves with our good friends and dear family. We have this one opportunity, as far as I can tell, to take our delight in creation, to express ourselves in art and technology, to love one another, and to get to know our deepest passions.
I don’t want to waste a moment of my precious time on earth! I want to sow gardens, keep bees, play with grandchildren, listen to the sweet sound of summer birds, walk snowy fields in the chill winter, fall in love, nurse ill relatives, reach out to strangers, find a way to make life better for hundreds and thousands of people, and take time to relax into a lazy hammock.
What do you want to do? How will you mark the passage of your life and celebrate the gifts God has showered upon you?
However you understand God, whatever your spiritual practices or values…take time to mark the big moments, the important events. Has there been a marriage or anniversary in your family? A birth or adoption? Do you have a child who has graduated from high school or college? Did you get the job you were praying for, or have you launched a new business venture? Did you buy a new home for your growing family, or a second home as a reward for hard work successfully concluded? Do you need to say a bitter-sweet good-bye to someone who is moving away?
These are spiritual moments…doorways into a deeper dimension, and windows through which we can catch a glimpse of the Divine power who sustains our lives and creates opportunities for us to know our own hearts.
I would count it an honor to help you create a memorable event to mark a milestone in your life, or in the life of someone you cherish. Together, I believe we can make time stand still for just a moment – long enough for everyone present to realize that something special has just been imprinted on the very earth itself, and heaven has smiled.
